During the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners 2023, ABC Turku is partnering with DZMITRY, a comrade from Belarus, for an event focusing on political prisoners in Belarus.
Join us at Kirjakahvila on the 27th of August from 15:00 to 19:00. We’ll delve into the recent events in Belarus and discuss the situation concerning political prisoners. Over the past few years, there has been a significant rise in the incarceration of the Belarusian population, especially among those who have expressed their opposition to the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
We’ll be offering coffee, tea, and vegan desserts for donations. All proceeds will go towards supporting political prisoners in Belarus. Enjoy our company while learning about and supporting the cause of abolition.

– A brief overview of the dire situation in Belarus.
– Introduction to some Belarusian political prisoners and an exploration of what the term “political prisoner” entails.
– An opportunity to send support posts to Belarusian political prisoners.
