Gabriel entered prison at the age of 17 for bank robbery and was part of the “AsociaciΓ³n de Presos de RΓ©gimen Especial” (APRE), an organisation that fought to end solitary confinement. After a tireless activity that still continues, on 10 July 2023 he was released after more than 30 years of imprisonment in different prisons in Spain and Europe, related to 3 operations against him (Audacia, Scripta Manent and Operation Buyo).
For her part, Eliza was arrested on 13 June 2012 during the OsadΓa operation for administering, together with other comrades, the Culmine blog. She was involved in the Scripta Manent and Ardire trials, and in 2017 with Gabriel in Operation Buyo, both of them taking on their time in prison in a dignified and combative manner. In the exchange of these memories and processes we hope to contribute to the discussions, perspectives and projections for the strengthening of the anti-prison struggle in Colombian territory, and to continue weaving networks with like-minded people in different parts of the world, meeting beyond borders in the struggle against prisons and the societies that need them.
