Th. Xatziaggelou – … and the ashes of the Bastille will spread to the furthest reaches of the earth

Message by anarchist prisoner Thanos Xatziaggelou for the international week of solidarity with anarchist prisoners (23-30 August):

Look at how their indifference kills us”

On a planet that looks more and more like a slaughterhouse, there are people with a consciousness of steel, embedded deep into the concrete and metal of non-existence for their subversive intentions. People that honoured their qualities, standing tall with respect and dedication to the passing of history. They looked the lackeys of authority straight in the eye, not as onlookers in the arena of the spectacle, but as fighters. Sworn enemies of injustice, and antagonists of the existing.

On a planet that looks more and more like a prison, there are real prisoners that hold the flower of liberation deeply rooted in their heart. Prisoners of a quiet but unsilenced war against decline and alienation, a war that does not guarantee safety, but has a lust for life. And every night, they look at the stars as the walls of incarceration grow taller. And every morning, their will and persistence grow taller too. Until that ultimate dawn comes…

On a planet set on fire by insurrectionary hearts, there are still messages of resistance and optimism. Messages of complicity hidden under hoods, that travel to our ears through the bang of an improvised device in the palace of the uniformed miasma in Chile, through a molotov thrown in the enraged french suburbs, through a burst of rage and justice in the West Bank, through an act of sabotage against the developmental frenzy in the italian north, through the shattering of the shopfronts of local consumerism.

Here, where time has no power over our bodies, and rage suffocates you like spit, the intensification of the international revolutionary struggle is our own recollection of total freedom. It is our need and our desire. He who forgets the ever-present prisoners of the social and class war for a world without authority, forgets the war itself.

Incessant solidarity to the unrepentant imprisoned revolutionaries, that demarcate life at the natural border of subversive justice.

Power and respect to the international revolutionary cells that fight today, that vindicate our imprisonment.
