Call for the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners August 23 – 30, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marius Mason, an environmental and animal rights activist, anarchist, writer, artist and trans advocate, was serving the longest sentence to date for acts of environmental sabotage. After 17 years of incarceration, we celebrate his release as he was moved to a half way house on May 14 this year. <\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\n

Inside prison, he never gave up, but stood up for himself and others, advocated for trans prisoners and strongly resisted the prison system. All the years before for International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners and Trans Prisoner Day of Action, we called to write to him. Now, we are excited to remove him from our letter writing list and instead join forces again on the outside.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Still, there are many remaining in prison and on our letter writing list, and ever new ones are being added. Solidarity is key to be able to fight this repressive system. Solidarity can carry us through the darkest times – a postcard or a letter, a ralley in front of the prison, a visit means the world and gives energy. A story of a comrade in prison shared on an event multiplies with those present. It is our responsibility to let their ideas and with them the persons themselves travel beyond the prison walls. By not forgetting those in prison, solidarity can grow.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

That’s why we call every year for the International Week of Solidarity with Anarchist Prisoners. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Times are getting harder, fascism is rising,and states, fascists and conservatives make us again the targets of their opposition – as progressive forces, Queers, Antifas, and Anarchists. They try to crush us such as in the recent convictions at the Prairieland case where people are facing up to 100 years in prison. Or the attempt to suppress the anarchist movement in Indonesia, where again after the May Day clashes ten anarchist are imprisoned and face serious charges.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

In the face of that adversity, we need to stick together and act in solidarity. To strengthen our communities and support the most vulnerable. Let’s not forget the prisoners and instead fight side by side. People are not just prisoners, they are our comrades. Marius showed a great example of how we can reach out to each other to fight a shared struggle.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Marius Mason, un anarchiste antisp\u00e9ciste et \u00e9cologiste, \u00e9crivain, artiste et militant trans \u00e9tait en prison pour la plus longue peine \u00e0 l’heure actuelle pour des actes de sabotage en d\u00e9fense de l’environnement. Apr\u00e8s 17 ans d’enfermement, nous c\u00e9l\u00e9brons son transfert suite \u00e0 sa sortie de prison et son transfert dans une maison de semi-libert\u00e9, le 14 mai dernier.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

\u00c0 l’int\u00e9rieur de la prison, il n’a jamais abandonn\u00e9, mais s’est dress\u00e9 pour les autres comme pour lui, d\u00e9fendant les droits des prisonnier.es trans et r\u00e9sistant au syst\u00e8me carc\u00e9ral. Toutes ces ann\u00e9es, nous avons appel\u00e9 \u00e0 lui \u00e9crire lors de la semaine internationale de solidarit\u00e9 avec les prisonnier.es anarchistes. Maintenant, nous sommes heureux de le retirer de notre liste et de lutter ensemble depuis l’ext\u00e9rieur.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Malgr\u00e9 cela, de nombreux compas restent en prison et sur notre liste d’adresses, de nouvelles personnes sont m\u00eame ajout\u00e9es. La solidarit\u00e9 est n\u00e9cessaire pour lutter contre ce syst\u00e8me r\u00e9pressif. La solidarit\u00e9 peut nous porter \u00e0 travers les moments les plus sombres – une carte postale ou une lettre, un rassemblement devant une prison, une visite, peuvent signifier \u00e9norm\u00e9ment et donner des forces. L’histoire d’un.e compa en prison partag\u00e9e lors d’un \u00e9v\u00e9nement, se multiplie avec les personnes pr\u00e9sentes. C’est notre responsabilit\u00e9 de transmettre leurs id\u00e9es et avec elles, les personnes elles-m\u00eames voyagent au-del\u00e0 des murs des prisons. En n’oubliant pas les enferm\u00e9.es, la solidarit\u00e9 peut cro\u00eetre.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

C’est pour ces raisons que chaque ann\u00e9e nous appelons \u00e0 une semaine de solidarit\u00e9 avec les prisonnier.es anarchistes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Les temps sont de plus en plus durs, le fascisme s’\u00e9l\u00e8ve, et les \u00e9tats, les fascistes et les conservateurs font de nous les cibles de leur violence – en tant que Queer, Antifas ou anarchistes.
Ils essayent de nous \u00e9craser comme le montre les condamnations dans l’affaire Prairieland, avec des condamnations allant jusqu’\u00e0 100 ans de prison. Ou la tentative de supprimer le mouvement anarchiste en Indon\u00e9sie o\u00f9, suite aux affrontements du premier mai, 10 anarchistes sont emprisonn\u00e9es et risquent de lourdes condamnations.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Face \u00e0 l’adversit\u00e9, nous devons rester ensemble et agir en solidarit\u00e9. Renforcer nos communaut\u00e9s et supporter les plus vuln\u00e9rables. N’oublions pas les enferm\u00e9.es et luttons c\u00f4te \u00e0 c\u00f4te. Ce ne sont pas seulement des prisonnier.eres, ce sont nos compas. Marius a montr\u00e9 en long et en large comment nous pouvons faire appel les uns aux autres pour mener un combat commun.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
